Bell Center hosts Sheepdogs documentary film screening and art exhibition

April 10 @ 5:00 pm - 7:00 pm

Sheepdogs film screening and art exhibit poster
Meyer Stump Productions is proud to present an art exhibition and screening of the film “Sheepdogs,” directed by Brian Knappmiller. This documentary movie features four Morongo
Basin veterans of the US Marines and Navy, telling their stories of injury and healing. Shot by insurgents in an ambush, wounded in a base attack in Fallujah, getting cancer possibly as a result of military service, almost losing a leg in a motorcycle accident but saved by a fellow Marine—these service people tell their stories of pain and triumph, resilience, and on-going healing.

The film was shot entirely in the Morongo Basin and includes music from local artists.  The art exhibition presents Ted Meyer’s monoprints and photographs of the subjects’ physical
scars, and their health incident stories.  The military members and filmmakers will be present for a short question and answer session after the film screening.

Free and open to the public.
Free parking at Copper Mountain College Bell Center.

This project was funded in part by a grant from the California Arts Council, a state agency.
