CalWORKS for Students Receiving Assistance

If you are receiving various forms of public assistance, California Work Opportunities & Responsibilities to Kids (CalWORKs) can help you meet your personal and academic goals.

CMC provides specialized counseling, subsidized employment, mentoring, advocacy, and personal/professional development to assist eligible students with personal, academic, and career goals. 

CalFresh

CalFresh is a California financial aid program that’s focused on helping students buy food and eat healthier. You can receive an average of $150/month for groceries each week, and it won’t affect your financial aid and you don’t need your parent’s tax return information to apply. About 2 out of 5 students qualify for the CalFresh program, so if you find yourself needing help with groceries, CMC is here to help.

Eligibility

• Be a current CMC student
• Be receiving at least $1 of cash aid for themselves
• Provide a current Passport to Services (Gen2000) and Welfare to Work Plan
• Complete the CMC Verification form
